  • "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing" -Duke E.

Strumming and picking very straight so no jazz 'feel'; chord voicings are all over the neck (ie no voice leading) so no jazz 'sound'.

This is Pop music and it is a step towards learning to play jazz. To think you are playing advanced jazz because you add some sevenths to your vanilla chord voicings is self-deception. Okay for a neophyte maybe, but "a professional instructor of advanced jazz" should expect criticism on this.

  • how is this a lesson?

    or advanced?

    or jazz?

I'm never listening to your recommendations again youtube!

  • If this is advanced WHAT THE HELL is beginner!?! haha

  • Hey i learned how to cook beer brats on expert village they were great ! this guitar lesson sucks , advanced jazz really? come on dude teachers like you ruin the business!!

  • Jazz really?

  • advanced?

    Jazz?

  • ah so this is advanced jazz.......

  • HAhahaha the title says "advanced"

  • cant argue with you here, however I'm wouldn't put too much emphasis on voice leading for this simple rythm, after all its not chord melody and a lead guitar over the top played in jazz 8ths could easily make those chords pop. The big mistake we both agree an is the "advanced part" this lesson falls into the beginner category. Why no vids from you? you obviously know your stuff (better than me anyway) would love to hear you play;)
