Storm Approaching #1

Here is a line of storms approaching the west Shorewood, IL area on August 23, 2007. The cell I videoed eventually had a tornado report with it. Please excuse my crappy videoing...I was too engrossed at times to pay attention to the screen.

No tornado sirens because you are looking at the wrong part of the storm. The heavy rain behind the clouds mean you are in front of the storm, wall clouds and tornadoes form in the rear of the storm.

We had them a little later, but because a funnel was spotted about 10 miles east of us. Figures, huh? :)

Shorewood? I live in Dixon, IL; the reason I say that is I've seen a few similar sights but nothing as severe as thislol

West Joliet but we might as well be Shorewood. We use their schools and FD.

I have chased out near Dixon a couple of times actually. Beautiful area!

I remember that storm. Which subdivision do u live in I used to live in kipling estates. Do u remember the storm with hail in 2005?

you sould have filmed the part when the cloud came over your house, the first few minutes of the storm are the most interesting with all the wind driven rain

the wall cloud was under the light grey. The shelf cloud was weak and was light grey.
