At the Myrtle Beach Debate on January 16, 2012, the various candidates were addressing the public prior to the debate. When Dr. Ron Paul came out to speak at Faith and Family open mic presentation, the microphone was cut off so the crowd could not hear his speech.

A report asked Senator Tom Davis about what had happened and if he had any knowledge of why the microphone was silenced. Mr. Davis stated he was back stage and heard the speech but had no knowledge that the crowd could not hear a word from Dr. Paul.
