Tis one of the best songs of Mother Maybelle I have.
The Queen of the Autoharp plays the 5string banjo!

This song is from 1949, Maybelle does the lead.
She's introduced by her daughter June.
It's a live radio version. They did a lot of these
programs back in the 40's and 50's.

Once, while sitting backstage at the Ryman with June and Stringbean, she was talking about how String was teaching her "drop thumb" style. She said she had John Henry down, but was to shy to play it for anyone. She came by playin' the five string naturally. RIP Carters. You were country music classics.
