[Important notice:] This video is to teach people about the Jamaican ethnic groups that most people do not know about, so although there are pictures of people of African descent shown throughout the video, it is a reason that there's no explanation...because it is common knowledge that there are people of African descent in Jamaica. The purpose is to show why and how the 'others' got there. [EDIT: They took down this video because of the rights to this song. I think this is absolutely retarded. Anyway, the song was ORIGINALLY 'Row Like a Boat', but due to copyright laws or some crap, I had to Audioswap to get the video back up. WHY an artist would not want more exposure by having their music featured is beyond me. ..Anyway, the important points to this video is not the music, so please enjoy it, anyway.)

...Blacks, Indians, Chinese, Whites...We have it all! When I was asked to be featured in this video, I was MORE than pleased to help out. This is something I love to teach others about. I helped Mr. Joel pick the song and contributed some info and pictures... I guess it turned into a collective effort after all XD;

  • I remember a in 2008 when I went to Jamaica my second time in 10 years to visist my family I was shocked that I saw an Asian Man and what looked to be his mother or grandmother.

  • @palsos123 The world IS a melting pot and so is Jamaica. I am mixed with Jewish, Scottish, Indian, Black and who knows what else. And my brother-in-law is racially mixed with Black and Chinese. The thing is most Jamaicans don’t make a big deal about their racial background the way Americans would…. It’s not that important to them. I was never knowingly conscious of my racial background until after I came to the U.S.

  • @palsos123 So I take it you've never heard the saying "Out of many one people?" it is the country's motto I wonder why that is?

  • My Mum is Jamaican Chinese! :)

  • @errolgyoung leave her alone. most Trini and Jamaicans get along. Dont follow the hype. they even have their own dancehall party down there.

  • There is one mistake in this video that I saw.... the lady in the Jamaica t-shirt is not Jamaican - she is actually Trini (unfortunately).

  • I agree with allianceFiLifeDotCom and ikeenaXxX. Jamaica aint no melting pot. Over 90% of Jamaicans are black so I am speaking the truth when I say that Jamaica is a black country. I know there is a hint if Indian, a hint of chinese and a tiny minority of white people there as well but If Jamaica is a melting pot then nearly every country in the world is a melting pot because every country has people who are from different races.

  • backside hole who ever say jamaican are only black never see me yet!! my daddy is half irish my grandma is half chinese my mother is half indian and we are all jamaicans!

  • @deadguystorage English is an ethnic group.An ethnic group is a biological group of people that share a common homeland,language and culture.England being a extremely diverse country is a very recent thing,and the country itself is very very old.English identity is not used for racism.That argument of yours can also go for Jamaican's and Pakistani's.We can easily say they say they are Jamaican's and Pakistani's because they are racist towards the English.

  • @rimidalv47 English is NOT an ethnic group, England is home to an extremely wide variety of people of different races and ethnic identities. Please remember that being English is a nationality before it is any kind of language identity (anywhere in the world). I realise you mean differently but you should be aware that the 'English (or even British) identity' argument has been used as a tool by racists for decades against decendants of Jamaican and Pakistani immigrants (as well as many others).
