  • Bad ass ride what gear are you running and just getting your take on it why did you go with the 5.3 over the 5.7 or 6.0. I got a 80 malibu that I am thinking about doing a 5.3 in where did you do most of your research on builds. I have looked but there is not many in CHP or super shevy. I seen a few and it looks like thay build and hold power well. I was thinkin a bore job and single turbo or a bore and deck and do a high compression engine. Any info you have would be appreciated.

This is not my truck but I would head on over to performancetrucks . net and you can gain a lot of info or ask questions in different forum threads. If you do go turbo, you can even make the little 4.8 v8 engines have a lot of power. Guys on that website I mentioned have over 600rwhp and tq with a turboed 4.8. If you go turbo a 4.8,5.3 and ls1 would work great and if you want all motor I would prob go with the 6.0. You can make a 5.3 fast all motor but takes research and money

A lot of guys go for the 5.3L because they can be had for so cheap complete with the engine, pcm, accessories and everything, plus they make great power for what they are. If you wanted to take an easier approach with a boosted 5.3L, get a small cam like an LS6 cam or maybe bigger imo and match it up with a procharger as it is a self contained unit so you don't have to tap into your oil pan etc.

  • I think he hit 88 mph doc...

  • Looks like fun, the best kind of fun....

  • @hunterdka you can get a 5.3l .30 over coated pistons and performance cam for 4grand at jeg's and it will put out 350+ hp and it comes with a carb set up but uses/comes with the individual coils and runs on a msd controller. if you want to skip the research and fucking around on the internet and it will do burnouts like this truck all day long. or you can spen another 500 and get the 450hp 383 patriot motor fo 4500 and really get er done. or for 6500 you can get the 600hp motor. lol

  • Smoke another one!

  • yes that was badass!!
