Sheep herding Poodle :Nickel

Nickel a Standard Poodle's last time herding in full show coat...it came off that day! Poodles are recognized by AHBA for their herding abilities. Nickel at around 1 yr earned her JHD title... hopefully more to come.

This was really great. She was very responsive to her handler, but she also knew exactly how much pressure to put on the sheep. When they'd take off, she'd immediately back off when they headed back where they belonged. Beautiful working dog and relationship. Not too crazy or too hard on the sheep. Nice...

Fun to watch, especially in her full poodle show-cut glory! I can't help thinking of the movie "Babe" though, and what the sheep would say about that 'wolf' and her fancy hairdo. :)

I think this is a great video! There is nothing wrong with dog shows, but other people who thinks that poodles are little "dolls" should really watch this video. It shows that the poodle is an allrounder. I like her self-control, most dogs i know would just begin to chase the sheeps. I'm going to add this video to my favorites :)
