@golddustwoman83 Like "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad" for example (though "Remember WENN" was their first original series).
And yes, that is Wendell Craig you hear in some of the promos; around that time, he was also the voice of Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite and Viewer's Choice. In other words, he was the East Cost's answer to longtime ABC announcer Ernie Anderson

@golddustwoman83 The thing is with Turner Classics, it's mainly films owned by MGM and Warner Brothers. TCM has never had the rights to the Universal Classic Horror films whereas AMC did. TCM only occassionally would show films like Bride Of Frankenstein whereas AMC was showings the film every other Friday and Saturday night when I was younger.

I SO miss the old AMC and Bob Dorian! All I have to say is thank goodness for Turner Classic Movies.

Still, wouldn't having AMC AND TCM showing "classic film" from the same time period be a bit redundant? I think TCM has made a niche with the "Hollywood golden age" era, and AMC has taken on more contemporary classics. Plus they're producing TV series with a real cinematic quality to them.
I didnt get cable tv until 1996, but then AMC was still airing classic movies and commercial free too. How far that channel has fallen.

How I long for the days of AMC when it truly was a classic movie channel....I loved Bob Dorian and Nick Clooney as hosts....They were class acts....Now, AMC is just another station.....In fact, I think it leads the pack with commercials, and they play the same movies over and over again.....Terrible.....
