Here's a great player from the early-mid 50's. There's much to like about this player from it's unique color combination, art-deco styling, 3-tube 2-stage amp, play arm holdown, space for 45's, and volume & tone controls. It's great in that they didn't cheap out with a single tube amp! The case has it's usual "battle scars" as most 50 year old suitcase players will - it's just the nature of the beast. None the less, it's scarce enough to want it for my collection! The amp had been restored and a Bosco "Low Rider" cartridge had already been put in. It had obviously been worked on (it did have a new idler & new motor & motorboard rubber mounts) but the cycle cam was shot and so was the 50C5 tube. It didn't take much to get this up & running correctly. The player features the standard RCA RP-190 mechanism. On a scale of 1-10 rareness, this will rate a 9. It's just a scarce, cool looking player with some great "creature features" licensed by RCA. I hope you can appreciate and enjoy another 50's history player. Stay tuned as there's yet more to come!

  • Hi ,

I wounder if this DYNAVOX could be MAGNAVOX are same company? kind sound like it

  • @RCAradio I'm nearly 100% sure there was no affiliation with one another. Perhaps they were trying to identify w/Magnavox to push their product??

  • Another great find! I was wondering Seeburgs, When one of these players is described as a "Push Pull Amp" what exactly does that term refer to? Something with the tubes? Please enlighten me. Thanks for another piece of 50's history!

  • @DrOlds100 There's not enough room to describe here. Log onto answers(dot)com and punch in "push-pull" amplifier and you'll get a very good explanation.

  • @seeburgsrock That was great! It was interesting reading and easy to understend. Thanks for sending me there. BTW did you see the link I sent you in your pm about the LM Holiday Promos? If not, take a look. I think you may like it.

  • @DrOlds100 As you could see, there just wouldn't have been enough room here to explain the "Push-Pull" amplifer. And YES I did log onto that site and a couple of others as well to learn about the "Line Material" holiday promo records. It's an interesting story and it appears those records are relatively scarce as they weren't designed for sale to the public. WHO KNEW?! I guess that was a lucky catch for me!
