Learning any kinds of languages is always a demanding job. In my opinion, these languages are like monsters, and you want them to torture you or you want to control them, and it all depends on your solutions. My suggestions to learn Chinese is that you should have a good strategy to memorize them including oral sentences, vocabularies, and idioms. Over the past five years, I did my best to invent a special way to memorize 20 books, and each books includes 400 sentences in English. I hope the way could work, and it can adapt to learn any kind of language.

I think Pin Yin is an easier way to learn Chinese for English speakers. I have learned a lot of Mandarin words from my Pin Yin dictionary.
