The joke is Mann and the others state the debate is over. Real scientists never end a debate. Amazing to think that Einstein's theories still are being debated, what we know about physics is ever evolving, what we know about biology and life is still ever growing, but somehow we were able to figure out and predict with 100% certainty the earths climate caused by man is chaining the climate. The real focus should be on heavy pollutants like mercury released from coal rather than CO2 gas.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Whether human activity causes global warming is, in the aggregate, inconsequential--should the earth grow too warm, ocean thermohaline cycles will break down and plunge us into another ice age.

It saddens me that people use controversy over global warming as a catch-all to debunk other, very real environmental threats. Destruction of habitat, deforestation, water contamination, overfishing, and overuse of fertilizers are still issues that need to be addressed.
