The Virtual Army Experience (VAE) is a 10,000 square foot inflatable dome that helps the public gain a better appreciation for the jobs Army soldiers do on a daily basis. The core of the VAE is a combat simulator, which gives participants a chance to load up into life-sized Humvee and UH-60 Blackhawk simulators and take a virtual test drive of the U.S. Army. We immerse participants into all aspects of an actual combat mission, in order to show them the advanced technology and various careers that are available in today's Army.

Participants also have the chance to meet one of the eight members of our Real Heroes program. The Real Heroes are soldiers who have distinguished themselves in combat with courage and ability. The Real Hero with the VAE at the Kennedy Space Center will be Sergeant First Class John Adams, who received a Bronze Star with Valor for his heroic role in Operation Iraqi Freedom. SFC Adams is a native Floridian and was recently featured in a story on Lou Dobbs Tonight. To view the story, click here.

The VAE is one of the few hands on attractions at this weekends show and because of the popularity, weve received significant media coverage. Since the VAE went out on the road in February, 2007, weve been covered by Fox News, CNN, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, as well as local outlets at every stop the VAE makes.

  • @MrThetechnologyboy you suck

  • @Harshmeister123 MP 31B

  • graphic and the game suck

  • Been there. Done it. Not that cool

  • Eh. this looks like the normal combat simulation using miles . Except they don't get to experience the real world environment.

  • Yes, a lot of the simulation field uses technology already used in the gaming industry. ExpeditionDI looks like Counter Strike. SECORE2 is an engine the army is developing, promising that existing and future hardware will be plug and play. America's Army has a purpose beyond recruitment as well, some units use it to build communication skills. The difference between gaming and simulation is there is more money in simulation.

  • @earlbedfordjr83 i think they are using the CryEngine 3 (from crysis pc game) for graphics developments right?

  • @Topulis91 This isn't a game, its a real virtual reality simulator being developed by the united states army. Part of that simulator is the soldier's actual m16 with attachments simulating the feel of an actual trigger pull. The soldier puts on a helmet and these glasses and that is the screen. To move in the simulator you have to actually walk on a specialized floor. This stuff is being worked on it is in development.

  • I whould love to see them in the real thing, only diffrence is they whould probably be runing in circles saying were gona die were gona die..i just want to go back to my lazy boy sofa and play my games in my pretend world ware i am something, LOL.

  • @fallout2029 lmfao you must be 11B also... I hate shitty details. Thank god all the new PVT's do that crap!
