The larger picture seems to be Latino gangs pushing black gangs (and black people in general) out or areas they've inhabited for generations. It's becoming increasingly clear that the Latino population centers in the US are taking and holding territory. One might even question whether the offenders are immigrants or an invading army. I know what many of them would say.

Look, either you end the easy access ot firearms, or you have to implement capital punishment. A society with guns that does not exercise severe retribution for random murder of unarmed innocents will collapse into anarchy. These people are punks. They dont deserve any more understanding. When you're talking about someone crazy, drugged, insane etc, they truly have no fear of death. In fact, there was a case in In LA recently gang banger killed his own family and then called 911 and said 'bring it on.' They did and two SWAT officers were shot - one died - before the shooter was taken out by a SWAT sniper. The prospect of execution is only encouragement to someone like that. Ending easy access to firearms is another factor that seems to correlate with lower violent crime though.

I agree with your sentiments and cynicism, but blaming corrupt govt is not an excuse for rotten behavior. This country is suffering from an epidemic of rationalized bad behavior from the top on down to the gutter. Fight to keep govt acountable, and fight to jail criminals, and in gang murders, execute them, because A. we don't ever want these people killing more B. It will send a very loud message to punks - there will be a price, think twice.

I agree with everything but executing. That just brings 'law abiding' people down to the level of the law breakers and therefore lowers the law. Execution dates from a time when we didn't have prisons to keep criminals out of society. Almost no other country has execution. And almost no other country has our criminal violence. There's really not much of a correlation between executions and lowering violent crime.
