@ASchlink1990 much to the contrary...most of cliff solos were lost in james' crunch and kirk incessant whining wah...i put cliff and billy at equal ground because billy sheehan has had time to come up with new and wonderful things...but cliff didnt. But he did amazing for the time he did have so thats why he is amazing...but i equal them on skill and eccentric, just cliff had more of a vision and an ambition. billy just wanted to be like Joe :)

Not a fan of bass playing sounding like a guitar, but it's good though...
I'm a much bigger fan of the bass sound and slap playing like Les Claypool and Ryan Martinie.

Billy Sheehan is much better than Cliff Burton. The problem with Metallica and their solos (bass and guitar) is that they're not clean like this guy's. When Billy Sheehan solos you can pick out every single note. When Cliff soloed, half of them would get lost in the distortion or because he couldn't play at that speed cleanly. Same with comparing Kirk Hammet and Steve Vai. Steve plays fast cleanly, Kirk plays fast messily.
