Texas Health Freedom Coalition Update Legislative Interim Hearing

Historically speaking, the citizens of Texas have long enjoyed a health care environment which has allowed a vigorous and effective complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) health care community to flourish in this state. Your wellness may depend on it.

  • Because Texas Legislators want to limit your choice of practitioners and modalities that are available to Texans. Many other states already have a bill like this. New Mexico just passed one this year.

  • Unsubstantiated claim, are you getting your stats from Fox News?

And even if that Were the case (which I have no knowledge about) it is surely better than just letting people suffer if they have no money.

And we can get insurance if we want to, it's not forced, it's given to us as a human right to live happily, healthily and live with healthy people.

  • Humane being that 65k people died in hospital beds waiting for care in the UK last year?

    That kind of Humane?

  • Single payer now!!!

  • Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) received a handwritten note Thursday from Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff Tom Barthold confirming the penalty for failing to pay the up to $1,900 fee for not buying health insurance.

Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it "Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold."

  • There are lots of scientific studies, evaluating complimentary medicine. Why support this bill? What is different about this bill and why is it important?

  • doctors gave surgery and medicine for free? nursing home and care?really?!?!

  • Old people weren't on the street because you didn't need health insurance unless you were having major surgery or something done. That's how cheap the prices were! Insurance is for unplanned disasters, not routine checkups. Old people were never out on street, doctors provided their services for a cut-price or for free to accomodate the elderly and poor. What we have now is the result of government making HMOs necessary, and doctors refusing treatment unless you're covered. Do some research.

  • America needs universal healthcare, free at the point of use for all.

ALL people should have access to healthcare, not just those who can afford it.

Any system that means poor people miss out is REALLY bad for your karma!
