The music is a small part of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Weihnachtsoratorium" which I greatly cherish since I know it from childhood and have also seen it live a few times. And - of course I feel very proud and honored since I live in Bach's city Leipzig, Germany, where he composed a lot of his work.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON!!

  • Could you please add "Immanuel, o süsses Wort! Jesu, du mein liebstes Leben" and "Nun seid ihr wohl gerochen" ? Would love to hear them sung by this choir

  • Hello!

I'm so sorry but unfortunately I don't have any of the songs you named. The music I uploaded here is taken from a Christmas Mix CD. It's got "Herrscher des Himmels" in the same amazing quality, but I didn't find the time to upload it yet.

I wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope you have a very Beautiful Holiday Season filled with everything that you wish for and deserve!

Lots of dear Greetings from Germany,

    Friederike ;-D

  • I note with some alarm that there are eight 'dislikes'. Perhaps they need a little help, whether or not professional. Bach is Genius One (sorry Wolfgang et al). Does anyone know why so many of the very greatest composers were Germanic?

  • I like the music and the photo.. it reminds me of home during winter time :)

  • The man was not of this Earth but was from above. No human could create such music as this and so many other masterpieces. Thank God for giving us Jesus Christ first and foremost and J. S. Bach.

  • Absolutely breathtaking ... it never gets old.

  • Beautiful! Thank you!!

  • I love the music but they did not have cars when Bach was alive!

  • Es ist jetzt zwar grade Sommer-Beginn ~ aber ich freu mich ueber dieses schoene Werk und schick es jetzt gleich in meine "seasonal favorites" ;o) Vielen Dank!

    Hello from Canada

  • Hoch lebe der Dresdner Kreuzchor ;)

  • @frida24 Thank you for your sincere and warm wishes. Lots of dear greetings to Germany too. I hope life has been as joyful since you posted this video. It is a real privilege to live in Leipzig of Bach...
