Album: Into Something Good: The Mickie Most Years 1964-1972. CD 3.

Note:

I particularly like this song. It was tough on post it because of the quality of audio, but now able to give a gain and slow downer in the original audio.

  • This is a great version of this song " first time I've heard it" It's very similar to the original Australian version by a guy called Ross D Wylie and written by another Aussie, Johnny Young. It was just called The Star. You may like it if you check it out on youtube.

  • @diehardhushfan: I don't know this version of Ross D Wylie. I've seen on YT a cover of this song performed by a female singer. I'll check the version of Ross. Thanks for the info.

  • Hi just wondering if it might be possible to repost but without the lyrics?

  • @1Seafolly: Or the letter attached ...

No longer wanted to shake it, but I think of this possibility.

  • i think that this version is far more better than the original one :P

  • Don't know, but he did a stint in "Coronation Street", Britain's longest running T,V series ( Manchester "working class" street ~ 51 years and still going strong). He played the son of the local builder. The Brit lead singer of that American megagroup.... The Monkees.... also acted in CS. He played the local "battleaxe's" grandson! Both child stars who became popstars!

  • @SuperNevile Did he think of himself as the star of the band, or did he try to downplay that a little?

  • Love this song, but heard an interview with a member of the Hermits who said something along the lines that Peter at the time was acting the "Star" and this song seemed like a parody. You know ~ career path ~ Lead singer Hermans Hermits..then.. Peter Noone And Herman's Hermits.. then Peter Noone solo Star! Anyway he started the band.

  • Rare little gem from Fab group of the 60s.LOVE IT!
