What happened between Shane and Jenny (sleeping together and making out in bed) was a mistake because what Shane does not know is that Jenny was hiding the letter from Molly in the attic and she was keeping silent all the time about it. Molly was the only girl whom Shane ever loved and was faithful with, but Jenny made Shane forget about her and not being able to reconcile with her. Shane did not know nor was she aware about it, Jenny had put a blind eye on her.
