I've got a bunch of J-3 wheel time and PA-18 sea plane time. I wish I had been able to fly the J-3 on floats. Not too many of them since most pilots think that 65hp isn't much fun. Even in the PA-18 we had pretty long runs!

It really depends on the condition. Anywhere from $25,000 to $100,000 depending on restoration, etc. Of course that's the easy check to write. Its the maintenance that makes it expensive.

Great filming of Captain Kershaw with his vroom vroom =)
Tell Jim that Tasha wants another ride in the J3!
VERY NICE visual editing- but say, could you be so kind as to give us some of that 4-cylinder Teledyne Continental Motors engine music? That TCM 4-banger music is right up there with the Pratt & Whitney radials and RR Merlin in my ears!
