Jim:
Good to hear from you. I sent this out to my younger sister who was also a music major and she was impressed with the sound and drum line coordination. Are you involved with music at all?
I recently bought a trumpet, got my chops back and I am playing taps for military funerals as a member of Bugles Across America.

Greetings Larry! I believe all Alumni have tremendous memories of great times and great music, and thanks to Ken and his archives, we can share.
Pam, yes we were so cool.
Gail, Candy is missed.
Ken, you are a treasure!!!

My Name is Larry Schillings and I was the director of this GRHS marching band, I was so surprised to find this audio of out 1972 marching band show.
Very good sound, great drumline and drum line charts written by my friend George Tuthil who sadly is no longer with us.
I really love our closer Auld Lang Syne which was identical to that played by the former D&B Corps national champion Racine Kilities.
To all former members be proud and play this for your kids and grand kids.
Best Larry

I remember this season as well. My sister Candy, was one of the band captains with Jim Millar. It was an outstanding band, band the way it used to be. Definitely 1972, Todd, :). - Gail GRHS '80

Wow, this brought back memories for me. I remember that season. And I was only about 11 in 1972. Are you sure this was the `72 show? Really? -Todd GRHS `79

Thanks for sharing.... John, GRHS '83, Drum Line 82-83
There is something very gratifying about hearing that Larry likes the sound of these old tapes all these years later. Larry I will email you back regarding the film. I know a lot of places where it can be transferred. And I have the recording of the spring concert where you had the concert band play "synchronously" to it. Maybe I can use that performance.

God, those trombones were obnoxious-sounding! Larry, a little more time spent on balance and blend, please! Still, the drum line sounds fantastic, thanks to Lee Ann Horton. (p.s. this is Jim Millar, one of two obnoxious-sounding trombones, the other was Dr. Bruce Watson. And let's not forget Mark Berry, Amy Vecchione, Paula Schwanenflugel, Celeste DePiero, and more).

@swinging60s That is hysterical. I was about to go WWF on your ass and talk about how wonderful the two principals Bruce Watson and Jim Millar were. You got me good! And the others as well. Too funny.
