I have a nagging feeling your date maybe incorrect Robin, if you watch cutebikerwannabe's C4 Closedown clip from 1996, it appears to have been recorded the day after this broadcast, the main giveaway being the Nashville trailer, although feel free to correct me.

Yes, but cutebikerwannabe gives an incorrect date. I've known that for ages, I just didn't know which date it actually was. If you check the BFI site, their entries for The White Room and Short Stories confirm that my date is correct (that's how I ascertained it in the first place).
