Protest only works when it is organized and sustained. In Egypt the police crackdown just encouraged more and more people to get out on the streets. When you refuse to be intimidated no matter what, that is when you win.

One of these days some deranged individual is going to get the idea that protesting is best done with a high powered hunting rifle 500 or 600 yards behind police lines.

I'd love to see that... 150 or so cops blocking passage on the street whilst beating their sheilds... two or three of them drop from a head shot fired from some balcony 5 city blocks away... cop pandamonium breaks loose...

I hope some well armed cop hating deranged individual just had a seed planted...

Demonstrating and striking is the biggest physical power people have over the tyrants(apart from fighting back in self-defence). That's why the tyrants made voting legal and striking/demonstrating pretty much illegal. They want you to BELIEVE in voting. Because when you believe in voting, then you don't strike/demonstrate. It's a magician's trick: They trick you in having "power" and at the same time they manage to stop you from using your BIGGEST weapon.
