Song: sarasa sAmadAna
rAgam: kApinArAyaNi
tALam: dEshAdi
composer: thyagaraja
language: Telugu

Meaning:
Oh Rama! You are the One who knows how to use the saama, daana, bEdha and danDa methods at the appropriate time. No one can be compared to you. Please help me. RaavaNa, the most devoted bhaktha (devotee) of Lord Shiva, could not understand this truth. You sent many calming words to him through your messenger. You even granted Ayodhya to RaavaNa. Finally, you conquered him and made his brother Vibheeshana the king of Lanka.

  • i know not this language but i transcend the earthly limitations into deeper thinking whenever i hear this. This is holy devotion and masterful, any who criticize cannot do what she does. Any fault in her pronunciation does not diminish the gathering of sacred energy and holy regard for sanctity projected in the sound these devotees create.

  • @Bushrraff

it is bad english. if you can recognize her just do that, otherwise don't spell harm.

  • I am a rasika of this song thanks to Madurai Mani Iyers rendition. Her rendition

takes me back to yesteryears exp erience. Never tired of listening to this again

    and again. thanks.

  • Simply great! Best rendition of this song so far!

  • carnaticmusic89 is right, we are just giving our feedback and constructive criticism at the same time respecting the artist. If there is no feedback or expression of the rasikas feelings, how will Vishaka herself know to improve, which she has room for?

  • That doesn't make sense - an overwhelming number of art critics in the world are not necessarily practitioners of the art. To say all of them are 'wasting their time' would be a bold statement, which you really need to back up. I don't feel those critics are wasting their time; nor am I.

  • show how you can sing better than her otherwise dont waste your time.

  • That's not true. Sāhityam is important since words and melody are inseparable in music, especially in Carnatic Music. Saying otherwise would falsely suggest that Tyagarāja's poetry is not as important as his tuning. Pronunciation does matter, and while Smt. Visakha Hari is pretty good, she can improve her pronunciation a little; not to mention a few other aspects of singing. She's good, but there' a lot remaining to improve.

  • @danen17m

its not sama raag, its kaapi narayani

  • what a cracking performance. to pronoucations dont matter to those appreciate music and she is not sitting for lagnuage test for god sake.
