This isn't anywhere near a fair comparison. The modded BOSS pedal sounds like shit. That pedal out of the box with the gain low and the level high kicks ass.

I own the Proco Rat2 pedal and at first I hated it...I have used it through numerous heads I've owned and didin't like it. They were tubes and transisters heads...
This pedal didin't work well for me and sounded thin very thin or too muddy...
I have found by using an Over-drive pedal in front of it, it sounds amazing because it fattens up the tone...Try it and see for yourself...

You really have to tame the high end on the RAT with the filter control, then it kicks ass. The Govnor sounds pretty good though......
