Side notes about the R142S: There were being manufactured just as Kawasaki was gearing up to begin the ongoing R160 order. In addition, the TA was forced to order an additional R142's because they were short on cars. Kawasaki won the bid back in late-2003, early-2004. The cars didn't go into service till late-2004, early-2005. Just thought I'd share that information with your viewers, CaitSith810.

Ahh, yeah. I just looked it up, but it said how the MTA wants the R142S cars to be R142As.
"he R142A is built by Kawasaki and has many of the same features as the R142, built by Bombardier. The main order of 400 R142A cars are numbered 7211-7610; the 120 option cars are numbers 7611-7730. Eighty cars, known as the R142S, were built by Kawasaki in 2003-04 to supplement the R142As. They are numbered as 7731-7810. The MTA considers the R142S to be R142A"
But I'll stick with the S. Thanks !
