However, 1 point of hypocrisy is these same people who fear control by "big corporations" favor total control by kleptomaniacs in the STATE. This is much worse!
A government is a provider of services which you pay for whether you want to or not. It is the coercive sector of the economy. At least the customers of these big corporations don't FORCE you to be their customers.
All this can be summarized with two words... Austrian Economics. Less borrowing and spending a la Keynesian Economics, and replace it with more savings.
For years, the affluent customers that I built beautiful cabinets for, well, at the end, they were off to the next big trip, or the next ostentatious foreign-made toy-- or handing their own kids the money the beat out of my price. I never could understand how they never seems satisfied unless they beat me out of money, or made my life more difficult. Now I know. Their life was fake, and their values were shallow. who would have known, unless you had money yourself. It's not the money.
Happiest country in the world ? Bhutan , and they dont care about possessions or celebrities.
