  • Am I the only one who could listen to this man speak forever? Manufacturing Consent is my favorite of Chomsky's works.

  • this man should teach the zeitgeist movement what a proper way of putting forward an argument is

  • @bizso09 Chomsky has said that he thought the totalitarian makeup of the US during WW2 was justified. A anarchist society would have to come to a way of dealing with that problem or your right- it would die.

  • question is, if there are two societies, one is decentralized anarchy, other is totalitarian "democracy", if there is a war, which one will win? I have a feeling that it's the totalitarian because they can concentrate more power. This is social darwinism, and natural selection.

  • those in power will always exploit those not in power

  • @Mewzickchannel Maybe he could join their movement..Zeitgeist that is. After all, they are comprised of LOTS of experts in their chosen field, maybe a genious linguist with most excelent political savy is what they need to help awaken the masses to the bennifits of living in a non-moneytary world...(starting with small comunities ofcourse!)

  • @deathbyzza420 ...or men of intellect like Christopher Hitchens, moreso.

  • I can understand why they would have a "conspiracy theory" front like Alex Jones to distract us from men of intellect like Chomsky.

  • Stuff like this is specifically why SOPA was written. So that they could stop these ideas and opinions from being shared freely.

  • @sharonmyk

Chomsky has spoken about right wing libertarianism too. Check this out: watch?v=RxPUvQZ3rcQ.

If I had to guess it's because there's a difference between working to elucidate matters and making a profit. Corporations actively oppose efficient systems of distribution which limit their ability to make a profit, whereas those that utilise the didactic method seek the widest audience possible and are patently willing to have their message heard for free. Even artists that require remuneration are happy to be heard (mostly), the corporations leech profits from them too.

  • This video would be so much more effective if it didn't constantly tell us how great Chomsky was. Is it about him -- or manufactured consent?
