He tells of learning screen acting with director William Wyler and Sam Goldwyn on the set of "Wuthering Heights", one of his favorite anecdotes.

Talks of acting Hamlet, his recent King Lear performance, his early marriage and problematic second marriage with Vivien Leigh.

Then speaks of his favorite role, "The Entertainer", and third wife Joan Plowright.

  • I have nothing but respect for Olivier but there is no way he is in the same league as Brando. Brando did an exellent job as Marc Antony in Julius Caesar

  • My opinion about the difference between Brando and Olivier is that Brando enthralled you, and Olivier amazed you... Olivier made it look so natural whereas Brando looked so natural.

  • @11october1893 I think you have to "categorize" actors, because they are so different.

    IMO the greatest are. Olivier as a stage actor, Brando as the 'method-actor' and Spencer Tracy as the 'Hollywood-actor'.
