MLM or multi-level-marketing is a method that can literally make you thousands of dollars in residual income. However; you must be in the right place, at the right time and with the right people to even see profit. For the most part however, the average marketer will not make much money with any MLM system, the actual 'products' aren't even used and eventually everyone abandons ship. MLM companies do not last, they are built around hype and cliche advertising - once the initial enthusiasm breaks down, the company goes down with it.
Affiliate Marketing happens to be one of my favorite ways to make money. It is a much more stable and reliable way to make money online. Blog about your product, hone your skills at sales and get those conversion rates high!
Blogging and monetizing those blogs is also a way to earn some extra cash. Though it isn't reliable, nor is it very profitable - it is still a way to earn money. You do need a healthy amount of traffic to your blog and well placed ads for this to work.

how much traffic are "you" getting a day to get a buck a day from adsense?

it really depends on the type of traffic you are getting and the type of ads you are running. Some ads on adsense will give me over $3 per click and sometimes as little as $0.01 per click so it really depends.
