  • My opinion is that reclaiming words is one of the biggest steps towards self pride and defiance against the connotations intended by bullies. It takes away some of the negative power of the word, and in my opinion no one can take anyone's dignity or insult anyone unless we give their words power. If someone's called a tranny (or fag or the n word) : "Was that supposed to insult me? Hell yeah I am, and proud of it."

  • @songoftheopenroad Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. The point of view from the folks I was.....er......debating with :p was that the right to the reclamation of that word rested with transwomen because it has been and continues to be levelled at them in negative ways that's disproportianately greater than it is toward trans guys.... I get the point. But.....for me that doesn't detract from the relationship I have with that term, or in my mind, my right to use it. To each their own :)

  • Couldn't you of thought of a more imaginative title? :P x

  • @ilovechriscolfer97 Actually no. I have the flu and was tired. You're welcome to make a suggestion and if I like it I'll use it :p My available creative juice is going straight into my songwriting.

  • Jesus I can't believe those people harassing u. I've seen it done before and in an equally bullying manner. I personally stay away from terminology of any kind, because I find language of that kind limiting and restrictive. But that whole misogyny man thing is such bullshit, and ironically they are the ones hating and splitting the community. Why dialogue has to become so personal is beyond me. Anyway forget the haters dude, they're just kids wanting a fight to fight and feel punk.

  • @BillyBarnacle *tries to imagine escaping terminology all together*...... Thanks for the support Billy.

  • Welcome to Melbourne man! Hope to see you around soon. Congratulations on the acceptance of the management company! That is great news for yourself and the trans community. Great work Paige!

  • @VTracie thanks love. It all helps. I think it's important not to throw the baby out with the bathwater, so to speak. These people are effectively championing for the rights of members of the trans community that bear the majority of anti-trans violence etc....I just think the extremist either/or mentality is unfortunate, because the trans male experience get's lost in there somehow. But ultimately I know in my heart what I'm trying to achieve, and I'll continue to do that regardless :)

  • Refer to yourself how you want to sweetheart, your are living the Trans life like many others. People can be so anal! You have put Transgender out there and people should be happy with that. Through you coming out on national TV and people are able to freely talk about Transgender now in public and with friends without being afraid. People and communicate to people about gender disphoria. in a positive way. It all helps break down the barriers which is the main thing

    Miss Angel Tracie
