  • i sort of feel like it wouldnt work in the states our mortar mixes are not lime based.

  • In my experience this device works fairly well with soft mortar but on some of the harder mortar we have here in the U.S. this device does not work. The reason you would want to do that is that we have a lot of foundation movement problems especially here in the Dallas Texas area and with foundation movement comes cracks in beick and mortar joints.

  • Is it available in the USA??????

  • We have a whole range of these and other mortar raking tools at The Drywall Emporium Ltd

  • @StevenEElkins You missed the point. Its only any good on good brickwork with softish mortar. An angle grinder with cutting discs is the only real alternative when dealing with tougher mortar and uneven joints. I was just pionting out that this tool does not cope with all jobs. Just the easy ones.

  • @kenricktom: Just like the mortar in this video.

  • @baggie00001: The last time I checked the object here was to NOT cut into the brick.

  • Ive just tried to use one of these but it didnt work. The brickwork mortar joints were uneven widths. Some of the perps were only 3mm and this bit would not cut through the brick. It was ok when the joints were 8mm or above. Had to use an angle grinder with two diamond blades sandwiched together to recut the perps.

  • @SelfbuilderDotNet well hurry up then will ya?? lol I want mine too. I got a mortar rake set from wholesale tool co but I like the vacuum setup you have

  • Roger Bisby - whatta British name!
