Why You MUST NOT Support Ron Paul's 2012 Campaign!

Many Ron Paul supporters say they are willing to overlook Paul's views on ending US military involvement anywhere past our borders because they like his views on 'Ending the Fed,' overhauling our financial system and tax code and ending corruption in Washington. However consider these two facts....

1. None of those 'great ideas' are within the authority of a president to make happen. They would all require an act of Congress. Keep in mind that in all his years in Congress (23+ years?), Ron Paul has only been able to get one bill that he sponsored actually passed. ONE Bill signed into law in over 30 years in Congress. And that bill was a funding bill for a museum or something. The chances are that Bills based on his extreme views would not just fly through Congress, they would probably be rejected by Democrats and Republicans alike and at best would take years of fighting. Has Ron Paul shown himself to be a leader who can bring people together and achieve compromise? Nope.

2. The role where Ron Paul could make things happen just by giving the order is as Commander in Chief. If he chose, on his first day in office he could give the order to withdraw every serviceman in the world back to the US and close every US military base in every foreign country in the world. The results of this would be catastrophic. North Korea would invade South Korea within weeks, maybe days, Iran would invade Iraq and probably Kuwait & close the Straights of Hormuz, cutting off all oil to the US and anyone else they don't like. And then instead of the US being the 'worlds policeman' as some people disparagingly call us, that role would be up for grabs and would be quickly filled by Russia or China.

So the reality is, all you Ron Paul supporters who are willing to overlook Paul's Anti-military views (or anti-imperialist as he likes to call them) because you like his economic ideas, you have things backwards. You should be willing to set aside for a moment his economic ideas which would probably never get passed into law and ask yourself one question. Would YOU be comfortable with Ron Paul as Commander in Chief of the US Military? Get a fucking grasp on reality.
