I'm calling her Ciambella (Cham-baay-la). It means dough nut in Italian
The Credits thing got cut off---This is what it said: After more research, she will be in a different enclosure tomorrow w/out substrate. I am worried about infection, with her shell all scraped up the way it is. I set up the enclosure before debriding her of the algae, so I didn't know what was underneath it.
She will have a piece of black foam down, and some smooth river rocks scattered to hold it in place. This should help with water quality, which these guys are so sensitive too.
I have already contacted a certified rescue about taking her. She needs a water heater, UVB basking bulb and a high powered filter to keep her habitat correct. I can't afford to buy these items for her, because I do not intend to keep her, and I will have no use for them once she moves on. :( Its sad, but I want what is best for her, and a rescue will have the resources to get her what she needs.
That algae should come off on its own if the turtle is supplied with fine gravel to burry its self in. That sand will work too. They gro fast!

@thebestman4agirl Males adults can get as long as 8 inches, some times 12. Females get somewhere between 12 and 18 inches, in rare cases 24 to almost 30 inches.
