Snow White: An Enchanting Musical (2 of 4)

"Snow White: An Enchanting Musical" opened at Disneyland's Fantasyland Theater on February 23, 2004. The show opened to mixed reviews. The musical was on hiatus for 2005 but returned for perhaps its last season in 2006. It's final performance was the Labor Day weekend of 2006. In it's place is Princess Fantasy Faire.

As the handsome prince leaves Snow White, the Evil Queen looked on. She orders the Huntsman to kill Snow White. The Huntsman could not carry out this order and sends the princess off into the woods. For some reason, the prince is running through the woods too... Snow White ends up at an empty and messy cottage. She decides with the help of her animal friends to clean the house up in hopes she could stay. The seven dwarfs arrive home to a clean house. They must clean up before having supper.

Well it's the stage adaptation. Even though it's based on the movie, it doesn't literally have to be exact. It's a 90 minute animated feature squeezed into a 30 minute theme park show. The heart box was only really necessary to show the queen and give proof to the mirror of Snow White's death. That scene is really not needed and thus moves the pace and story more forward and quickly.

Yeesh, I hate those animal costumes. They look like a bad attempt to integrate halloween costumes into a Cirque Du Soleil show...
