Not in HD quality (recorded with a Sony Ericsson k810i cell phone as I still didn't have the Sony HD cam and I'd forgotten the compact photo camera) but still viewable...
A year ago, during the holidays of the summer of 2010, a family member who is AMT or Aircraft Maintenance Technician of this medical Eurocopter EC-135, made me have the amazing good luck of being invited me to take a close look of the insides and outsides of this amazing helicopter and to watch its takeoff from the helipad of Hospital Comarcal del Pallars (the hospital in Tremp, in Catalonia, Spain) during a real mission.
The video starts when the engine number 1 was running and the engine number 2 was being started. It can also be seen that as the helicopter ascents on the takeoff, it also moves backwards a bit. This is made so that in the event of an engine failure, the helicopter could return to the helipad and land there safely.
It was all an incredible experience! The only thing I was not able to do was to fly in it :D
S!
