My buddy Bob Boomsma, featured in this video, died of prostate cancer the day before Thanksgiving 2010. He was only 54.

@RustBeltRailroad Yeah, great BIG layout! I was fortunate to have operated on the layout, twice. My buddy Boomer (Bob) in the video is not doing well. He's currently battling stage 4 prostate cancer.

I notice the layout has signaling. Is it CTC?

Chubb uses his own commercially available system the "CMRI" (computer model railroad interface) to run the signals and interface all his CTC boards. It has been described in detail in Model Railroader magazine. I also use the system on my home layout. Works great!
