Blind Melon- No Rain Cover

Hey all!

So this is my first video on youtube of me singing. I just got over my fear of singing in public about a year and a half ago or so and I've only been playing guitar for about a month.
Just wanted to post some videos up now and see how I progress.

Feedback would be awesome, and maybe boost my confidence to do better haha :P

you have a pretty voice, but the playing is way too harsh. maybe without the pick it'll be quieter, but i cant hear anything but the vibrations it sounds quite awful.

other then that you definitely have potential in your voice

i do agree that you have a pretty cool voice and you seem comfortable singing and speaking in front of the camera. great job by the way. i also have to say that the mic from the computer or the camera that you used picked up more guitar then voice. not good. maybe adjust the sound before posting your next one. all in all good job i look forward to hearing more from you in the future.

Great energy girl, for sure. Love your voice but i agree with one the other comments. Guitars too rough, the vibrations are distracting.Try a pick. Awesome job though.

Hi, nice singing. As a general rule, youtubers have short attention spans so your intro should be no longer than ten seconds. The sound here is VERY harsh. As others have posted, lose the pic. Lowering the recording volume may help. If it does not, feel free to sing sans music. Singing accapella is a great way to truly hear yourself and see whether or not you can stay on key w/o music. Overall a great job! I know this is old, but I'm posting anyway! :)

You have a nice voice. Your mic volume (recording level) is far too high. It is causing the track to distort (clipping), which is affecting the quality of your vocals. Turn the mic input down to a lower setting, and as kathy said, soften up on the strumming (attack).

Keep it up, and good luck.

Have you done any open mics, yet. Look for some in your area. I used to go to quite a few. Great chance to hang out with some fellow sings - songwriters.

Awesome voice, pretty good cover of an awesome song. I know I would not have the gumption to sing a song on YouTube, well not when I'm sober anyway.
