Maxpedition has come out with something quite a bit different... a messenger bag. This video looks at the Larkspur, the smaller of the two they came out. Check it out at http://www.maxpedition.com. Two part video because it ran over 10 minutes and I spliced it in half. Please check out Part 1 too.

  • That opening/loop on the back would be ideal for slipping over a sissy bar or carry rack on a motor bike, no need to tie it down. Brilliant!

  • No Shumi, you're brilliant! That's the best answer I've heard yet for that thing!

  • Thanks for the great review - it definitely helped sell me on the bag. I was wondering what you used to close that opening on the back of the bag - just stick-on velcro?

  • Thx Andy. Thx Cybrus. I used sticky velcro but after I washed the bag it kinda came off and I didn't replace it. A viewer said he took his to a shoe repair shop and had it sewn shut on the bottom. I hope to do the same.

  • Thanks for the customize options RoscoeBa. Goog ideas!!

  • Thx Shinobi. Now I need to go get them done!

  • Gigantanoraus, I love that word

  • Thanks after watching your review I order one ,I use it on our trips ,My girl can sure stuff it I fill sorry for that bag.

  • Good vids. LOL clicked back to the ME tab too see clean with damp cloth & air dry. What's with ppl not being happy with manufacturer stated dimensions? At best approx. no matter who measures. Nice product, but way beyond my budget for a go bag, considering the need to spend more for additional products that will protect the contents from rain, when one is force to move the bag through a driving rain

  • I think you just sold me on this bag. Going to Edinburgh for a week and I think my Pygmy Falcon will be too small for all the junk I'll be picking up at the shops, etc. Also, I'd take my Operator Attache, but the pockets on the outside are tempting targets.

    Hmmmm.

    Another great review!

  • I really like Maxpedition gear and I have a ton of their stuff. Nonetheless, I don't like this particular bag, since it doesn't have a bottle holder on the side, no dedicated laptop area and even though the material is rugged, it is flimsy. I was debating between the 5.11 Tactical Rush Delivery Messenger Bag, the Hazard 4 M.O.D Messenger Bag and the Maxpedition Larkspur Messenger Bag, but I ended up buying the Messenger Bag by 5.11 Tactical.

  • Hmm. Is it durable to hold a quite abit of weight? I just bought me a new 4 door truck so I have plenty of room for shtf stuff. :) Thought about using this bag as a food bag.

  • Nice review. One question I have that I can't seem to find an answer for anywhere is: What is the width of the zippered opening in the top flap? Ideally, I'd like to be able to put a laptop in that pocket so I could just open up the bag and run it through the scanner at the airport without having to remove my laptop. My laptop is 14.75" X 9.75" so it seems that it would easily fit in the pocket, but the zipper might not open wide enough to allow me to put the laptop inside the pocket.

  • Awesome review once again!

I don't know how I missed this one..

  • Thanks for the review! :) I'll probably get one soon.

One feature I think would be really useful are the two front pockets and being able to tuck the tops in. So if I'm at the library it wouldn't make a lot of noise if I need to grab something from there.

    Thanks again!

  • great vid, nice bag, cheers Roz
