  • This is quite a humbling topic, compared to your other musings on the divine-vel-non, ancient numismatics and bell-ringing. And I don't understand your observation that this self-administered test had "no cost" to you. It sounded VERY demanding, non-monetarily. I used such a "kit" once, though I believe it only required 3 or 4 "smears" and I was permitted to allow the specimens to enter the water in the toilet bowl. The thought of the finished "kit" then going through the post, however....

  • Yes indeed. It doesn't bear thinking about too closely. But the intention and the end-result (whatever the outcome) are all positively helpful.

  • I had two men seperatly feeling my balls the other day. It wasn't a very pleasant experience though they were both doctors. One is much larger than the other one but apparently its nothing to worry about if it gets any bigger though they have said i have to paint it yellow and pretend im wondering about on a space hopper.

  • Oooh Aaaah Too much detail - though who am I to talk?! The indignities that we humans put up with. Once again, thank you divinely beneficent creator god - - NOT!

  • I'm glad to hear you're fine. Public health care is great, when it works. I recently had an MRI. In a private hospital, it would have cost hundreds of euros, but now I paid only about 30 euros. It turned out I wasn't as lucky as you were - they found out I've got MS.

I'm still an atheist as this goes to the category "shit happens", no point blaming anybody or waiting for miracle cure. As a matter of fact, my already not-so-religious mom is now even more convinced there is no god.

  • Take care now; and thanks for your comment which is appreciated. I wish you very well.

  • @ 6:05 I really thought you were going to say "... you are in the shit"!

  • Great stuff. A few years back, I had to engage in the same procedure, although I only needed to gather three "smears." When the nurse -- a very nice woman -- giving me the instructions suggested the plastic bag thing as a way to keep the needed material out of the water, I was like, "You gotta be kidding me." But I did it. And I thought I was out of the woods when I got the all-clear on the samples. But then the doctor ordered a colonoscopy. Oofa!

  • I was diagnosed with a severe illness and spent more than 6 weeks in hospital. Even in my severe illness I found it hard to pray god for recovery. It simply occurred meaningless.

I was rather marvelling the wonders of science x-rays, MRIs and the drugs that helped me recover. Without these tools, I'd probably be dead by now.

  • yeh its the indignity of animal antecedants rather than divine creation that is responsible for the ever enlarging magnitutude of my diabolical apendage.

  • For all your inconvenience, you are fortunate enough not to live in the United States where people wait until they are diagnosed with a serious illness in the emergency room because they can't afford the $1000+ a month for insurance. You didn't complain, but if I ever hear of anyone from a civilized nation complaining about their national health care, I'll give their national health care something to do for them! lol Good video.

  • Good for you. Glad you're ok.

    But...

Off the subject, I had a thought. I thank God that I, in the USA, do not have an NHS to have myself tested for a deadly cancer. At least a test that would have little or no cost. I thank God that I would have to pay thousands of dollars.

Thank God I'm such a free person. Much more free than you and the Godless oppression of your Godless government and it's Godless social service. God made me "freeer"!

    Thank God!

  • Yeah, yeah, it's definitely the "cleansing" that is bad. The procedure itself, thanks, as you note, to the excellent drugs, is not bad at all. I felt the same way: as if I were watching something on TV that was happening to someone else.

  • I think the worst part of the colonoscopy was the cleansing beforehand.

I was so drugged up after that I was able to watch the camera with the doctor, as if it wasn't happening to me right then and there.
