initially the director wanted to make it a big multi starrer movie...with tollywood heroes nagarjuna and manchu manoj too...but unfortunately he couldn't.....it would have been amazing with all the heroes together......i want to see a south indian multi starrrer movie soon :)

i am a vijay fan.......but after watchin this movie i realised that ajith is unique in his own way.....perhaps style....... hats off....really loved that scene where he rescues sumanth and ganesh.....great movie ever!!!!!11

If it was an excellent entertainer for you, then good for u that u enjoyed it a lot. For me, it was disappointing because I went with a lot of expectations. What I hated most was that Venkat Prabhu truly screwed the movie which had a great potential to be the best ever thriller movie in Tamil.

Compared with Hollywood movies of similar genres, Mankatha is trash. But by Tamil movie standards, it's decent.

P.S:I felt it was much better than that monstrosity Endhiran.

I agree with some things u say, but the last sentence "Mankatha was a pretty great movie a Hollywood director can easily remake this movie in English and it'll still be a hit." was absolute non sense. Mankatha is no patch on any Hollywood heist/thriller flicks. They wouldn't dream of remaking it when they can come up with far far superior plots and ideas. Mankatha was decent by Tamil movie standards and had potential to be a great thriller but Venkat prabhu spoiled it.
