i think that the actors who create memorable characters on television, reveal the true parts of themselves.

Mr. Macnee appears to be true english gentleman.

And well done to Patrick - 90 years old and still going strong - sadly can't do much acting nowdays to his age and arthritis but always a true gentlemen

I could stand corrected but I always understood that Ian Hendry had had surgery on his throat. It's the first I've heard that he had suffered a series of strokes. Where did you hear that?

Ian Hendry not only suffered from extreme alcoholism, but he also had a series of strokes that ultimately ruined his speech. Only eight years before, he had appeared on "The New Avengers," but as rogue agent Irwin Gunner, not his original role as Dr. David Keel. Even then, his career was pretty well hitting the skids, and he bore only a passing resemblence to himself in his heyday. A great talent as actor and writer, and a life cut so tragically short by a horrible disease.

@bismuthcadmium Lol this was just weeks before i was born, im surprised they didn't do Patrick This Is Your Life in like 60's and 70's, but then again, suppose it gave him chance to go on and achieve more in his career, Ian Hendry sadly looked on his way out here Eamonn Andrews pretty much cut him short here.

Sad but Ian Hendry looks like he never recovered from all that whisky Michael Caine poured down his throat in Get Carter.
