@weaponEX, we don't use any time stretching in this so we're fine. As it happens we are not sure that anything NI has given us for time stretching is better then our CITE used in HWW and programmed by Greg.

@pokerbone Sample libraries are necessary tools today, and I would argue it still takes great skill to compose great music with them. These libraries don't compose the music for you. As far as your comment regarding the players, they understand the need for samples, and they also understand how most samples are recorded elsewhere in the world. They wanted to keep sampling work in Los Angeles, and for that we should be grateful.

Do we know if this library takes advantage of the next gen "Sampling 2.0" time-stretching algorithms in Kontakt 5?
I expect it'll take a while for all that stuff to catch on though but when it does - these libraries will all be due for a re-scripting

Sounds good to me. I'm still stuck in the IK Miroslav Philharmonik age. Can't wait!
I hope the price is within my hobbyist's means.

Fuck these guys!! What the hell are they doing? making themselves even more obsolete than they already are???!!!! and making sure film score "sound engineers" and "composers" don't need to hire them anymore. What idiots!!!

There is truth to the idea that players who work on the big sound stages, with the micing set up that is used there, are "trained" to get a sound that prints well on those mic arrays and given the acoustics of the room. It just comes from repeated playing in that "venue". It is like me, I'm used to playing on good civic auditorium stages. I "know" how to get a good sound, and to work with the sound guys to mic my trombone. The results are generally good. I've had dozens of successes.

Sounds good. There are "issues" with the way scoring orchs are contracted in L.A. Yes, often "B" players do not get the chance to play. I went to a lecture given by top contractor Sandy DeCrescent where she discussed things like that. Mostly, from having a background in economics and accounting as well as in pro music, I'd say the number of sessions is too small, and the pressure upon contractors is so heavy, that a small group with some "side fill" persons is going to get most calls.

Years ago a french horn legend, Vince De Rosa, did an interview for the times and in that interview said there were only about 100 musicians good enough to score films. I wish 100 horn players had had the balls to show up at his house to prove him wrong, but in this town if you speak up against the have's they make sure you never join their club.

Please folks, LA has at least 7 full orchestras worth of fantastic players. Just because these small cadre of players do the most studio work does NOT mean their the best of the best in every case. It just means they're the best politically connected.

cool, bring it! I wanna hear the new patches in the Pro version!
Please don't boo me for my opinion, but I think that sampling instruments don't mater how big names got players. Only thing that mater is that they must play descent without sloppiness.

@N3Z3Official I wish that were true, we would have saved a lot of money :) There is a huge, objective difference to having players of this calibre.
