English is not spoken in latin america like it's in other parts or continents of the world, if speak english is a need to get the crown in this kind of pageants, I think there's no need to participate.

how stupid people can be? Its Miss World, not Miss English World, Speaking English is not a requirement in the Miss World competition, the problem is, for those who insist the contestant Speak English, it will leave most of the countries in South America, Africa, many countries in the Far East, and the Middle East out.Miss Venezuela won fairly, she was the only one that stood out, and No I am not from Latin America/ South America.
