Their follow-up to "Come and Get These Memories", "Heat Wave" was an even bigger hit for Martha & The Vandellas. The song went to #4 on the Pop and #1,R&B for 1963. It was nominated for a Grammy, but did lost to Ray Charles. This song is considered by some to be the beginning of the Motown Sound with it's driving rhythm and its Gospel-Pop style singing and harmonies.NOTE: The Funk Brothers that played on this track were: Joe Hunter- Keyboards; Richard "Pistol" Allen- Drums; Mike Terry- Baritone sax; Dave Hamilton-Vibraphone; James Jamerson-Bass;

Your video proves exactly why those of us raised on records have not, and likely never will, become totally captured by CDs. There's something far more psychologically satisfying about WATCHING the record spin while listening, and the stylus traveling across its surface than watching a bloodless ticking off of minutes and seconds on a CD player's puny window. This is even truer in the case of 45s if the record player is a high-end stacking automatic.

Hey dvlaries! Thanks for your comment. I totally agree with you about vinyl records. I was always fascinated watching them spin around on the turntable. I think that's the reason why record companies designed their labels the way they did.

Well let me say this, as long as your on MY channel your gonna hear me introduce each and every song. But you have a choice,my friend. You can complain about it , which won't change anything or go on someone else's channel to listen to the song without the benefit of the information that I give!

A CD player can be made top-loading, where you can see the CD spin (indeed many audiophile CD players are build this way). Such players can also - believe it or not - be made to sound just as good as the best of vinyl rigs. I know, because I spend most of my time designing and building custom hi-end HiFis. The main problem with CD as a format is that A LOT of recordings are of terrible quality - especially from the last 10 years or so. Look up "Loudness war" on Wikipedia for more information.
