The Andrea Doria sank for this reason. Was in very light condition with tanks fuel almost empty. Stockholm damage the starboard tank and begun to flood with sea water. This asymmethrical condition lead to loss stability and sank the ship. Andrea Doria used fuel tanks like ballast.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the bow of that ship went in between the steel ribs cracking the ship open, the andrea doria is made of high tensile steel the titanic on the other hand is made of crappy 1905 steel it would have most likely split the titanic in half i mean seriously saying the is like saying if i knifed you in the ribs it would be a mild annoyance -
the damage that sunk the andrea doria would of only been an annyance to the R.M.S titanic

The Stockholm has a collison bulkhead in the bow which kept it afloat. The Stockholm is still in service (but very different looking) sailing as the 'Athena'.

61 people died. There was a teenager sleeping in a cabin of the AD and when it collided with the Stockholm, she was thrown over the ocean and onto the deck of the Stockholm and survived. She was dubbed, "The Miracle Girl". Strange huh?
