My 1978 2 door Caprice named Christine with a stock 98 Trans Am LS1 running a 12.7 @ 104 mph at KCIR.

  • KCIR man, brings back some memories.Aren't the Kc Royals and Chiefs and the drag strip technically in independence?

  • @JacobbrianS I believe that is correct. Was really sad to see KCIR closed and demolished though.

  • @HenryInKC that sucks, that was the first place i actuall raced at in 2006 when i lived up there. Last i had seen before i went home in early 07 they were expanding and remodeling, what happened?

  • @JacobbrianS Some rich people moved next to the track, then complained about the noise, so they paid off crooked city officials to have the track shutdown and bulldozed and will not let another drag strip be opened.

  • Thank you! It was a great running LS1 for being stock. Dyno'd 323 hp to the tire, bu I also agree the stall probably helped as well.

  • At the time of that run I had a TH350 with a 3600 or 3800 stall converter.
