Debussy didn't orchestrate No. 2 cos he believed it didn't lend itself to being orchestrated. It was orchestrated much later by other composers.

No. 2 to me is very bland. I've always believed that Debussy didn't like it either. Great minds think alike. LOL!

The oboe ia definitely not American - sounds French to me - English oboists usually have a wider vibrato. I heard this same version on another posting, if that helps.
