The Wild Parrots of Carriacou

The parrots drop in for some peanuts and teach me exactly how to feed them - with an open palm, not with using my fingers. Smart animals.

Wendy Cooper owner of Caribbee House (Prospect) previously rescued and nursed these macaws back to health, which led to a very successful breeding program. Tucked away at the foot of High North (1,000 Acres of forest) the area abounds with wildlife. Wendy and Robert Cooper own and a small estate which is also a sanctuary for ten rehabilitated blue and yellow macaws (ara ararauna). Over the years a few have been 'gently' released onto High North:
