  • One little hitch in sound through no fault of their own and some so-called fans start booing, glad it was only a minority as the rest of us sung with the band.

Bono showed his professionalism to continue right till sound came back.

    CLASS ACT!!

  • I thought it was part of the show to begin with.

Pure professionalism though and yes it was embarrassing when folk started booing.

It's electrical equipment ffs these things do happen.

  • Looks really strange - a massive crowd, U2 on stage performing, but making no sound at all LOL

It's amazing how they didn't f**k up the song and continued as if nothing happened

  • @JBLisbetter If you watch a video with the whole song, you'll realize they kept on playing the song in perfect timing. In fact, a few days back, a full IEM-feed recording of the concert surfaced, and you can see that they didn't stop playing and Bono didn't stop singing at all.

I've uploaded the song for you to check it out: goear (dot) com/listen/a4d686c/walk-on-u2 ... The sound drops out at 1:19 (although there are several small failures in the seconds prior to that), and comes back at 2:26.

  • @u2santos They probably didn't hear the boo's, but if you're trying to say that they don't hear anything outside their IEM's you're not entirely correct. You will feel when a 120kw sound system stops working, especially with all the subs under the stage! He didn't stop singing by choice!

  • Do any of you what IEM's are? In-ear monitors. They hear what they're playing through the small earpieces, not through the big amplifier stacks we the audience do. They didn't know the sound had gone off AT ALL, because only the big speakers failed, not their whole sound equipment. Bono and the guys were sill hearing themselves play, that's in fact why they didn't understand some of the booing and the strange audience behaviour.

  • lol @ irony of him singing on through the glitch, and when the sound comes on it's the chorus: "walk on"

  • The problem for U2 that night is, if they had stopped to restart the song then they would have had to have cut another song from the set list as they are restricted to bylaws which make them finish at a specific time, any further over and they get fined massively! Shame people boo them, I didn't I made sure I was one of the thousands who sang with them and carried them through the song!!!

  • That had to happen during one of my all time fave songs didnt it!! As for the booing...i think the people had every right to boo....most had paid a LOT of money to hear the band...so i can understand their frustration

  • @leftpeg777 quite right. true professional! What a legend!

  • @leftpeg777 Your right buddy there So-called fans.

  • @09876543217028 part of the gig ant it noob
