It's quite obvious what he was trying to do by using President Elect Obama's middle name.
He was trying to insinuate that Obama was in some a muslim, and the unspoken part of this insinuation is that all muslims are bad.
The Republican party kept on repeating his middle name, knowing that alot of ill will existed in the US against muslims due to the on going war on terror.
Imagine if a Jewish candidate ran for office in Germany in 1934, and they emphasised him middle name over and over ...
